Tower Homes' enormous new development kicks off this weekend at Wicklow Hills. This 100-acre site at Newtownmountkennedy will ultimately see a spend of €150m, with 80 units being constructed each year, by BBA Architects.
The space will incorporate 30 acres of parkland, childcare centres, a fitness trail, football fields and fishing lakes with 10 acres set aside for future school development. For now, 30 homes are being released - two-bed mid-terraces to four-bed semis, so this is very much aimed at the starter and family market.
Finished in either ochre or red-brick exteriors with off-white plaster render, there are cobbled driveways and shrubbery landscaping.
The two-bed mid-terrace (Sugarloaf) is 922 sq ft, priced at €195,000. The three-bed town house (Avoca) measures 996 sq ft and is €215,000 with one of the bedrooms ensuite and an L-shaped kitchen/dining area.
The end-of-terrace three-bed (Glendalough) is 1,120 sq ft and costs €235,000 while the semi is €240,000 and will measure 1,120 sq ft.
At the larger end, the four-bed semi(Powerscourt) is €269,000 and sized at 1,349 sq ft. These have a kitchen/dining room, separate living room and guest WC on the ground floor and one ensuite and family bathroom upstairs.
Kitchens are by Nolans and are hi-gloss soft close cupboards. They have a BER A rating which will help with the energy bills. Heating is by gas fired central boilers. Viewing is this Saturday and Sunday from 2-5pm. See wicklowhills.ie.
