Spread your wings by the sea
Barnageeragh Cove, Skerries, Co Dublin
Each style of house at Barnageeragh Cove, a seafront development in the maritime town of Skerries, is named after a bird.
The four-bed detached houses, part of a batch being released for sale this week by developer Winsac Limited, are called The Lapwing, while the three-beds plus studies have been dubbed The Rosefinch.
Show houses for both styles will be available for viewing this weekend at Barnageeragh Cove. The development is on the outskirts of the picturesque north Dublin town, which came second in all of Ireland in last year's Best Place to Live awards. There are two beaches and five islands visible from the sandy shoreline of Skerries' long South Beach.
The Rosefinch homes cost from €295,000, and prices for the four-bed Lapwing properties start at €475,000. The exterior of the properties have granite windowsills and roofs finished with Tegral slates. There is a side gate leading to the seeded back garden and there is parking space for two cars.
The open-plan interior layout is aimed at filling the properties with light and maximising space for young families. There is a choice of worktop for the kitchens and there are fitted wardrobes in the bedrooms.
The grounds at Barnageeragh Cove have seating areas and meandering pathways for walkers. There are also scenic walks and a playground at nearby Ardgillan Castle, an 18th-century castellated country house sits on acres of rolling lawns beside the sea.
More than 20 trains a day travel to Connolly Station from Skerries train station, which is within walking distance to Barnageeragh Cove.
There is a slew of national schools nearby, including St Patrick's, Holmpatrick NS (Church of Ireland), Scoil Moibhi in Milverton, and Scoil Naisiunta Realt na Mara. More.
By car, the M1 is accessed at Junction 4 near Swords, which provides access to Dublin Airport, the M50, the Port Tunnel, and the city.
The selling agents will be taking bookings from the show houses, which are open this Saturday and Sunday between 2pm and 4pm.
