Tudor design with 21st century credentials
Albany, Killiney, Co Dublin
The 15 tall homes that comprise Albany in Killiney may be Tudor in style but their eco-credentials are fully 21st century, with an A3 BER and Panasonic air-to-water heat pumps making them cheaper to run than older piles in the affluent coastal suburb.
The Cairn Homes scheme is set on the grounds of the eponymous Albany House, albeit with its own new entrance off Killiney Hill Road.
The new-builds surrounding Albany House first launched last summer and six of the semi-detached four-beds are still available. Each has 2,131 sq ft of accommodation spread out over three floors and is priced from €895,000.
The kitchens, which have units from McNally and Neff appliances, have floor-to-ceiling windows and patio doors, with large skylights for added light. The living rooms have a feature gas-fire insert and there is recessed lighting to the 9ft-high coffered ceilings. An American white oak stairs leads to the upstairs accommodation, which includes a first-floor bedroom with a front balcony.
Albany is within walking distance of Killiney's beach, village and Dart station, while Dalkey, Ballybrack and Shankill are also nearby. The centre of Dublin is 16km away.
Viewing is by appointment only.
