Nine in Drogheda, two minutes off M1
Liscorrie, Drogheda, Co Louth
The appeal of a 35-minute drive to the M50 ring road is driving flocks of house-hunters priced out of the Dublin market up the M1 motorway to Drogheda, which saw its population jump 6.2pc in the five years to 2016. So it's no surprise that Dubliners have accounted for much of the interest in Liscorrie, a development of three and four-bed homes on Drogheda's northside.
The first 25 homes of the 100-unit development was launched on May 27, with nine still available. Six of these are three-bed semi-detached properties priced from €240,000 and three are four-bed semis with price-tags of €265,000 apiece.
The new builds are beside an existing scheme called Liscorrie that was launched in 2008 by Joe Moran's Manor Park Homes, before the company collapsed in 2011 with debts of €170m. The developer of the new section at Liscorrie is Woodfort CFS.
The new additions to Liscorrie are block-built homes with exteriors finished in a mix of Rosewood brick and painted render blockwork, with concrete roof tiles, uPVC double-glazed windows and patio doors, and a cobble-lock driveway out front.
In the living room, a Dimplex Optiflame electric fire acts as the centrepiece, while the kitchen units in the open-plan kitchen/diner have cabinetry with a matt finish. The wardrobes in the bedrooms, one of which is a master ensuite, are all floor-to-ceiling in height.
Liscorrie is close to the Lourdes Hospital and is a two-minute drive to the M1, while Drogheda's train and bus stations are closeby.
The development's showhouses are open every Saturday and Sunday, between 2pm and 4pm, and are also on view daily by appointment.
