Just one home left in Celbridge development
Hawthorn Gate, Celbridge, Co Kildare
The green-fingered theme resonates strongly at Hawthorn Gate in Celbridge: the new development is on the site of a former garden centre and some of its properties share a boundary stone wall with the neighbouring Castletown House estate, built in 1722 for William Conolly, the Speaker of the Irish House of Commons.
The Maynooth Road scheme, developed by family-run business Bourke Builders, was officially launched in February, by which time most of the 26 properties had already been reserved.
The cheaper two, three and four-bed homes at Hawthorn Gate sold out, leaving just one property still on the market as the new homes selling season prepares to wind down for the summer.
The remaining home is a five-bed detached property with 1,657 sq ft of accommodation. It's selling for €605,000, but the steep price does take into account the size of the back garden: at 3,057 sq ft, the garden is almost three times the size of a three-bed semi in Dublin.
Viewings at Hawthorn Gate are by appointment.
