Lixnaw, once the seat of the Fitzmaurices, the earls of Kerry, is now also home to Kilcaragh Lawn, a residential development in the centre of the village. A third phase, comprising just seven homes, has been launched.
Kilcaragh Lawn, built by Don McNamara's Kilcaragh Green Developments, is a mix of three-bed semi-detached homes and four-bed detached homes. The three-bed semi-detached houses (type J) are priced from €130,000, and the four-beds (type G/H) cost from €210,000.
All of the houses come with fitted kitchens and appliances, a marble fireplace in the living room, and tiling and timber floors throughout.
The three-beds have a cut-stone clad exterior, a kitchen/dining room, a separate sitting room, utility, guest WC and three bedrooms, one of which is en-suite.
The four-beds, which measure 1,883 sq ft and have pitched roofs, two reception rooms, a separate study, two en-suite bedrooms and a central vacuum system. The master bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and there are built-in wardrobes in the other bedrooms. Outside, there is a garden to the rear and an open-plan garden to the front.
Lixnaw, the winner of the best entrant in the National Tidy Towns Competition in 2003, is 20 minutes by car to Tralee.
