Maplewood Residential has been spotted resuming construction at Ballycullen, where it's built some 1,500 homes since the early 1990s.
The new scheme it appears to be working on is located on the Old Court Road, just across from the Beechdale housing estate, one of the last phases Maplewood built at Ballycullen. Sources say the name will be Dodderbrook.
Dodderbrook, which doesn't yet have a price list, will mostly comprise three and four-bed semi-detached houses, along with a handful of detached properties.
All of the homes will have two storeys, front and rear gardens, off-street parking, and an A energy rating.
The houses, which will have the Dublin mountains as their backdrop, will be traditional in style but more spacious than many existing properties in other developments: the three-beds are expected to span 1,270 sq ft, while the four-bed semi-detached builds will measure 1,400 sq ft.
They will likely appeal to prospective buyers seeking to trade up from two-bed apartments and duplexes.
The scheme will ultimately have 135 units, with the show-house complex scheduled to open in early 2016. The development has already attracted a number of potential buyers and the selling agent has begun registering names of interested parties.
