Just three four-bed dormer bungalows left in Clane estate

Esmonde Avenue is a relatively low-density scheme for a bustling commuter village like Clane: the development, built by the Westar Group, consists of just 35 semi-detached dwellings and detached dormers.

All of the four-bed semi-detached homes at Esmonde Avenue have been sold, but there are three, slightly more expensive, detached properties left on the market there.

All three are four-bed dormer bungalows. Two of the homes cost €465,000 and belong to house type B-2 and there is one M type property available, which is priced at €430,000. The B-2 has four beds on the first floor and a room on the ground floor that can be used as a study or a fifth bedroom, while the M has three beds on the ground floor and one on first floor.

The facades of the type B-2 homes are mostly red brick, with a small band of cream render; the reverse is true of the exterior of the type M home, which has a narrow brick band and is dominated by cream render.

The exterior of the B-2 style properties have two dormer windows on the first floor, while the M type has just one. Sizes extend from 1,460 sq ft to 2,075 sq ft and both house types have large cobble-lock driveways and wrought-iron railings out front, as well as an enclosed garden to the rear. The homes face out on to a large green area, which is ideal for young families.

Inside, there are fitted kitchens from Akalim Kitchens and a marble fireplace in the living room with a wood-burning stove. The low-carbon houses have an A3 energy rating, thanks to eco-friendly features such as PV solar panels.

They are centrally heated with a condensing gas boiler and multi-zone controls to help the new owners reduce energy waste.

Esmonde Avenue is a short walk from Clane Village, which itself is 32km from Dublin along the M4, via Maynooth or Straffan. The village is served by regular buses and there is a commuter railway station 6km away at Sallins.
