THE inaugural house 2016 kicked off in Dublin's RDS this afternoon and hundreds of interior enthusiasts decended on Ireland's newest home and interiors extravaganza to soak up some inspiration.
The event boasts more than a dozen dreamy show kitchens, which were symbolic of 2016's biggest trends.
Interior designer Kasia Tomasiewicz, of Arena Kitchens, said 2016 has seen an increased interest in dark, muted colours.
"Top brand kitchen producers are promoting kitchens which are of a very modern style with deep, dark, very cosy, warm colours.
Natural worktops are also making a comeback, says David Rafter, Director of Arena Kitchens.
"In 2016 we see a lot of dark, muted colours, blues, deep greens, and also natural stone worktops have made a bit of a return this year. We're also seeing a lot of open units and displays which succeed in making the kitchen warm, open and cosy.
