You'll never guess what's behind the door of this amazing Hollywood-inspired home with a personal sunbed in Clondalkin
This unsuspecting Dublin home might look like the average semi-detached, but behind its doors hosts one of Ireland's biggest collections of Marilyn Monroe memorabilia.
From top to bottom, the quirky end-of-terrace property on Clondalkin's Harelawn Drive is a tribute to the Hollywood movie star, bursting with an interesting collection accumulated over several decades.
The home's entrance hall is a smack of bright colours which frame portraits of the late star, however the eye is drawn to the room's main focal point, a large circular mirror in which the hall's rainbow colours are reflected.
The purple-shaded sitting room is papered with some of Marilyn's most iconic photographs above the mantel, while a second living room hosts an aluminium-coloured couch alongside two leopard-print armchairs, each covered with cushions embossed with Marilyn's face.
Sun enthusiasts will appreciate the convenience of the personal sunbed set up in the home's kitchen, which sits alongside an elaborate dining table set with glamorous silver chairs and candleaboras.
A purple-carpeted staircase will land you on the home's upper level, which is adorned with old posters of some of Marilyn's biggest films. The Hollywood theme runs through the home's three bedrooms, each decked out in Marilyn Monroe bedspreads sets and photos of the late star.
The quirky bathroom is finished with a metallic tile and a bright pink door, a large bathtub one of its more attractive features.
Speaking of the property, senior negotiator at Ray Cooke Auctioneers, Ross McHugh said: "When I stepped inside the door I was really taken aback. It wasn't what I was expecting. To say this house is different is an understatement. The client is a Dublin woman, a huge Marilyn Monroe fan. She's looking for something a bit smaller than a three-bedroom home."
"There has already been a huge interest from Marilyn fans in the past 24 hours, which surprised me. The house is just really quirky, there's even a sunbed in the kitchen," he said.
The home is just alongside Liffey Valley Shopping Centre and close to the M50, but those purchasing the house should not expect to attain the impressive collection along with the keys as the Marilyn fan plans to take as much of the memorabilia as possible along with her to her new property.
44 Harelawn Drive, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 is on the market through private treaty for €185k by Ray Cooke Auctioneers.
