The DIY expert and presenter of the hugely popular TV show Cowboy Builders appeared at the first day of the Permanent TSB Ideal Home Show, at the RDS Simmonscourt Dublin.

She dropped into RTÉ 2FM studio earlier today to discuss all things DIY with Jenny Greene.

The former Page 3 pin-up  was delighted to inform Jenny about her newfound love of home furnishing and interior design as well as telling her about some of the horror stories she encountered during her time co-presenting reality television programme Cowboy Builders.

In a statement released tonight a spokesperson for the star said: “Melinda has had to unexpectedly cancel her second day at the permanent tsb Ideal Home Show due to a serious illness within her immediate family. She has returned to the UK to be with her family at this time.”

The Permanent tsb Ideal Home Show takes place at the RDS Simmonscourt until Sunday at 6p.m.
