Redington Woods is a cul-de-sac development of big, one-off executive-style houses at Kilcornan, just outside Clarinbridge in Co Galway.

The village, where some 100,000 oysters are eaten over a single weekend at the annual oyster festival, is about half a kilometre distant. This means the inhabitants of Redington Woods have a fairly easy commute to Galway city, which is about 20 minutes away by car.

Number 9 Redington Woods, named 'Bridgeview', is at the end of the cul-de-sac in a heavily wooded setting, with no neighbours to the south other than the pitches of Clarinbridge GAA Club.

It's on two-thirds of an acre with lawns and a patio, and there's nothing to disturb the peace there but birdsong, the rustling of trees and the occasional shouts of camogie players.

Inside, the house is 4,491 sq ft, although heating such a vast space should be reasonably manageable as it has an A3 energy rating.

It's expensively fitted out, with solid wood and marble flooring, a cherrywood staircase, zoned underfloor heating and a central vacuum system.

There are five bedrooms, all on the first floor, and four have en-suite showers. The master bedroom has French doors to a balcony, as well a walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite with a double shower and Airbath.

The main living room on the ground floor is the open-plan kitchen and dining room, where there's a centre island with a breakfast bar, a marble floor and patio doors.

Also on this level there are two formal reception rooms - a sitting room and a dining room, both with gas-fitted fireplaces - as well as a family room with patio doors and a wood-burning stove. The attic has been converted and is used as a gym.

Bridgeview is for sale for €750,000 with O'Donnellan & Joyce in Galway city (091) 564 212.
