Meadowlands, a development of three and four-bed houses Macroom, is proving popular with buyers qualifying for the new first-time buyers' rebate and commuters working at EMC-Dell in Ballincollig, a 25-minute drive away.
Of the 10 homes built on the edge of Macroom, a market town in the Sullane River valley in mid-west Cork, five have already been reserved. There are seven different styles of property, ranging from townhouses to semi-detached units to detached dwellings.
The scheme, constructed by Hurley and White Builders, is made up of two and three-storey homes, with a variety of elevations with features ranging from recessed balconies and deep feature windows to bay windows and high dormer windows.
Prices start at €160,000 for a three-bed mid-terrace house and at €260,000 for a four-bed detached property. Meadowlands is a 10-minute walk from the centre of Macroom. The development can be accessed via the town centre or by the Mill Road, which enables quick access to work in Ballincollig and Cork City.
The town itself has three primary schools and three secondary schools, and is home to Macroom Castle Demesne, a 40-ac riverside parkland and golf course.
