Price Guide: Wexford

The average price of a new home in Wexford at €196,700 is now 40pc down on the market peak, while the average for second-hand homes at €193,600 is down 44pc.

New two-and three-bedroom townhouses are estimated to have fallen from peak levels by 57pc and 52pc respectively. New four-and five-bedroom detached houses have fared somewhat better, falling from peak levels by 37pc and 35pc respectively.

The average price for second-hand one-bedroom apartments experienced a significant drop over the past four months, falling by 18pc to just €76,000, while the estimated average price for two-bedroom apartments have fallen by 10 to 12pc. Activity levels differ across the county, with Gorey agents reporting increased sales activity compared to last April due to first-time buyer interest while agents in Wexford Town saw no improvement over the last four months as prospective buyers found it difficult to secure mortgages.

Recent sales include three-bedroom detached holiday homes in coastal locations which sold for between €100,000 and €120,000.
