Dún Chaoin, a Gaeltacht village in west Kerry that's otherwise known as Dunquin, is home to a five-bed holiday property called Baile An Gleanna that overlooks the Blasket Islands and the Atlantic Ocean.
The 2,016 sq ft home came on the market six months ago, but its price has now been reduced to €325,000 from €385,000, providing its potential new owner with plenty of bang for their buck.
The accommodation at Baile An Gleanna is laid out over one-and-a-half storeys, with four of the bedrooms in the top of the house.
Internal finishes include solid oak flooring and ceramic tiles, but the highlight of the property is a sun room that comes with an open fire (useful for winter nights on the western tip of the Dingle peninsula).
There is another fireplace in the living room.
A kitchen with a marble worktop and a master bedroom with a tiled ensuite and a walk-in wardrobe also occupy this floor.
Baile An Gleanna sits on three quarters of an acre and there is also a detached garage on the landscaped site.
Dún Chaoin itself is the birthplace of storyteller Peig Sayers, whose work was once a staple of the Irish language school curriculum and was used to film scenes of Ryan's Daughter.
