Frank Lampard and Christine Bleakley are in the market for a US pad as the couple were spotted checking out Robert De Niro’s plush New York apartment over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
The former Chelsea star, who is currently at Manchester City, and his fiancee viewed the 9,000sqft Manhattan property as they house hunt in the Big Apple ahead of his move to New York City FC.
De Niro and his wife Grace Hightower are believed to have lived in the home since 2012, when their Upper East Side apartment was damaged in a fire which ruined five floors of the Taxi Driver actor’s luxury family home.
The duplex apartment is on the market for a hefty $39.8m (€35m) and boasts five large bedrooms with stunning 360° views of the Hudson River and the sparkling Manhattan skyline as well as a seven car garage.
Should they sign the deed, the apartment will offer Lampard and Bleakley a home life of luxury, with a central courtyard, a steam room and a library with a wood burning fireplace all featured in the property.
The 71-year-old actor is believed to have moved to Central Park West before returning to his original property which has been gutted and extensively renovated since the blaze.
Frank and Christine will be joining the long list of celebrities who have rented the downtown Perry Street apartment as Denzel Washington and Sting have previously rented the apartment for an estimated $125,000 per month.
