A range of family homes has been put together in a gated development from construction stalwarts Dwyer Nolan in this Newtownmountkennedy site.

Wicklow has certainly seen an upswing in developments this year, so the garden county is clearly attractive for buyers.

These 15 homes will start from €295,000 and as this is the final phase, buyers will find full on-site amenities including retail units, a supermarket, crèche, and even a hotel (The Parkview) and restaurant in situ. There is plenty of landscaping which was carried out by Ronan MacDiarmuida to include walkways, cut-stone features, seating areas and trees and shrubbery.

There will be four semi-detached units, five mid-terraces and six end-of-terrace houses. The square footage comes in at 1,184 sq ft.

The properties themselves are in an ochre brick front with the trim on windows and front door in a charcoal grey. Brick walls separate units and driveways are cobbled with large picture windows upstairs and down. To the rear is a split level garden with a full-width paved patio and high fencing between houses.

An external electrical socket has been fitted, which you think should be de rigeur for all those lawnmowers and patio heaters, but is annoyingly not always so.

Inside, there is a kitchen/dining room with double French doors out to the garden.

Units are soft-close drawers with a butcher's block-style worktop and the floor is tiled polished porcelain and recessed lighting has been fitted here and in the living room, which is to the front of the house.

There is a utility room and guest WC completing the ground floor accommodation. Upstairs are three bedrooms, one ensuite and a family bathroom. All bedrooms have fitted wardrobes.

The A3 BER rating comes from photovoltaic panels, uPVC windows and a high-performance gas condensing boiler, but the developer says it has left in situ a traditional fireplace instead of the newfangled electric or inset ones for a homier feel. Each house comes with a designated car space in the underground car park but there is also plenty of visitor parking also.

Newtownmountkennedy links to the motorway system at the adjacent N11 and is local to Druid's Glen.

Dublin is 34km to the north while the local villages of Greystones, Kilcoole and Delgany also service the area.

Viewing is this Saturday and Sunday from 2-4pm.
