Lots to muse about at Raglan Lane
Ayot Mews AMV €1m
Ayot Mews, at Raglan Lane in Dublin 4, has been buffeted about by the changing winds of the property market over the years.
It was sold in 1996 for a reported IR£320,000, before fetching the far more noteworthy sum of IR£1.56m at auction in 2000.
It's now up for auction again with an AMV of €1m, or about £790,000 in old money.
It's one of a streetful of modern mews at the back of Raglan Road - all fairly substantial houses.
Ayot Mews is 1,900 sq ft in size, on two floors with an attic, and has three bedrooms or four, depending on whether you prefer sleeping or studying.
The entrance hall is floored partly in marble chequerboard tiles and partly in timber, and has panelled walls and a pillared archway.
To the left of this there's a study with built-in bookshelves (or fourth bedroom as the case may be), and to the right is the wood-floored kitchen and breakfast room.
Straight ahead is an open-plan living room and dining room where there's a gas-fitted marble fireplace. Double doors lead from here to a long sunroom giving onto the back garden.
Off the sunroom there's a shower room and laundry, and there's also a guest toilet under the stairs in the hall.
The first floor has the master bedroom with a dressing room and en-suite bathroom, as well as two other bedrooms and the main bathroom.
Up on the top floor attic there's another room with an ensuite shower.
Entrance gates set in a redbrick wall lead to a parking area at the front of the house, where there are security cameras. Out the back there's a paved garden.
It will be auctioned on October 7 by Colliers (01) 678 5122, unless it sells before that.
