It would be hard to get away from thoughts of the briny at Adelaide House, a four-storey apartment block at Haddington Terrace in the centre of Dun Laoghaire.

The building has 18 apartments and those at the front face directly onto Dun Laoghaire harbour and the Irish Sea. And it's around the corner from the National Maritime Museum, housed in the old Mariners' Church at Haigh Terrace. Should you be looking for ways to pass the time, the museum is run by volunteers and they're always looking for more help.

Two of the apartments in the block, Numbers 4 and 9, are now for sale with DNG in Dun Laoghaire.

Number 4 is a two-bedroom apartment on the first floor, and it has sea views.

In total it measures 762 sq ft, and has an open-plan, L-shaped kitchen, dining and living room. The living area opens out onto a balcony, where the sea views are.

The basement of Adelaide House has parking and storerooms, and there's a lift. Apartment 4 comes with one parking space in the basement.

Apartment 9 is on the second floor but doesn't have a view of the sea.

It measures 484 sq ft and has one bedroom, as well as an open-plan living room and kitchen and a bathroom.

Number 9 doesn't have a parking space but life without a car should be pretty easy at Adelaide House.

The DART station is about five minutes' walk away along the seafront, and Dun Laoghaire's main street is about two minutes away.

Apartment 4, which has an annual service charge of €1,650, is for sale for €420,000. Apartment 9 has an asking price of €220,000 and an annual service charge of €1,250.

The agent, DNG Dun Laoghaire, is at (01) 230 1616.
