A showhome has opened at Landen Park to market a new house type at the Capital Homes scheme.
The development features detached and semi-detached homes on the grounds of the early 18th century Oldtown Demesne along the banks of the Royal Canal outside Naas.
The names of the four house types available have an avian theme, reflecting the development's location on the demesne and its Palladian-winged Oldtown House. The latest arrival to Landen Park is no different: the 1,950 sq ft, four-bed detached house style is called the Swan. There are now five of this house type available, with more to follow in the new year. Prices start at €500,000.
Buyers can choose from a selection of kitchen, wardrobe and fireplace styles designed especially for the development by interior designer Michelle Hetherington, named in 2015 as the Fit-Out Designer of the Year.
The development, which was launched in March 2015, has already notched up 80 sales to date. There will be 110 homes in all when the scheme is finished. There are also two units remaining on the market at Landen Park from the Pheasant house type - these residences measure 2,050 sq ft and cost from €550,000.
The A-rated properties come with gas-condensing boilers, low u-value windows and external doors to minimise heat loss, and low-emission argon-filled windows that reflect heat back into rooms. All the homes at Landen Park are equipped with an external charging point for electric cars, the first development of its kind in Ireland to include this feature as standard.
Residents at the development who commute to Dublin can walk to Sallins rail station, which has 20 services a day to Heuston Station. Motorists can access the M7 motorway.
The showhouses will be open tomorrow and Sunday, from 2pm-2.30pm.
