Demand for newly-built homes in commuter towns with good transport links is driving sales at Hayfield, a development in Maynooth that was first launched a year ago.
And the selling agent expects the momentum to continue when the third phase of the scheme is released tomorrow.
More than 45 houses were purchased over the first two phases at the new Straffan Road estate, built by Westin Homes. The latest batch of houses will consist of 18 two and three-bed properties, all of which have west-facing gardens. There will ultimately be 65 houses at Hayfield when the scheme is complete.
The third phase will comprise eight two-bed townhouses that measure 920 sq ft and are selling for €289,000. There are also 10 of the larger three-bed version, which extends over 1,335 sq ft and is priced from €335,000.
The two-bed house types are called The Rye and the three-bed is known as The Meadow.
There are fitted kitchens and wardrobes, and the living rooms have fireplaces from Lawlor Fireplaces in Churchtown.
The townhouses, which each have a BER of A2 or A3, are fitted with high-performance windows that are far more efficient than traditional double glazing, PV panels to generate electricity and a heat recovery and ventilation system that extracts warm air from kitchens and bathrooms and supplies fresh air to the bedrooms and living rooms.
Maynooth, a university town situated on the Royal Canal, is linked to Dublin by rail, bus and motorway.
The showhouses at Hayfield will be open tomorrow and Sunday, between 2.30pm-4pm.
