The advantage of Bollum Lodge is that it's right in the heart of the town of Rush but not much more than half a kilometre from the beach. It's at the end of Bollum Lane, a cul de sac veering south off Main Street, and has a quarter-acre of grounds bounded by an old stone wall. Inside, there are four bedrooms, including one with an en-suite and dressing room and a balcony looking south towards the sea. The ground floor has a sitting room and a dining room, both with cast iron fireplaces, a study and a utility room.

There are sea views from the upstairs bedrooms of 5 An Claddagh, one of a scheme of detached bungalows on a cul de sac off the Balbriggan Road. Number 5 is 1,582 sq ft with two reception rooms on the ground floor. The first is a living room, with a vaulted beamed ceiling with skylights and a bay window. The other is a sitting room linked by double doors to the kitchen, where there's a solid-fuel stove in a brick alcove. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor and three are upstairs, including the en-suite master.

Built in 2003, Ambelside overlooks the Rogerstown estuary to the west, and is about 10 minutes' walk from the Blue Flag Portrane beach to the east. It's a three-bedroom dormer bungalow of about 1,500 sq ft, and in good decorative order. The ground floor has a living room with a bay window and a cast iron fireplace, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and family room with double doors to the side patio and back garden. There's one ground-floor bedroom, with the other two bedrooms at dormer level.

When Rush Golf Club opened in 1943, membership was set at two guineas a year, or one guinea for "lady associates". It's now €1,195 to join the nine-hole links course. Across the street is The Links, a five-bed dormer bungalow of 2,120 sq ft. It's on a third of an acre, some of which has been made over for playing football. There are four bedrooms (one en-suite) upstairs, as well as a downstairs bedroom or study. Also on the ground floor is an open-plan living and dining room, a sitting room, recently fitted kitchen and utility.
