The local family-owned developer behind the Deepforde scheme on the Dublin Road in Drogheda has three properties left to sell at the housing estate before focusing its efforts on Knightswood, a nearby development scheduled to launch next month.
J Murphy Developments, which both builds and markets its own schemes, has two five-bed detached homes remaining at Deepforde and one four-bed former bungalow. The five-beds are for sale at €450,000 apiece, and the dormer is priced at €425,000.
The three homes were built under the older building regulations, while the new houses at Knightswood are being constructed under the most recent.
While they will be similar in style to the Deepforde units, they will have the added benefits of an A3 energy rating and an air-to-water heat pump, an extremely efficient heating system that serves wall-mounted radiators and provides domestic hot water. Knightswood is a few minutes' drive away from the centre of Drogheda and the town's train station.
As it is just off the M1 motorway, the developer is expecting to attract Dubliners priced out of the capital. Final prices for Knightswood, which will ultimately comprise 140 homes, have not yet been determined.
