Adare Manor is to place dozens of items up for auction in Limerick as the luxury hotel prepares to undergo refurbishment, including a bed that was once used by presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton and former president Bill.
The hotel announced that it is to undergo renovations set to cost more than €30m in order to solidify Adare Manor’s future as one of Ireland’s most luxurious venues.
The political couple visited the hotel in 1998 and stayed in one of Adare Manor’s staterooms, the contents of which are now being auctioned off on January 28 and 29.
Other items up for auction are a baby grand piano, chandeliers, glassware, stags heads, the contents of the presidential suites, as well as the contents of the spa and club house.
Following the upcoming renovations, the hotel has been tipped to host the Ryder Cup in 2026 and will also host the Pro-Am golf tournament in 2018.
Throughout its history Adare Manor has welcomed dozens of A-List guests, particularly during JP McManus’ Pro-Am tournaments.
Tiger Woods, Sharon Osbourne, Samuel L Jackson, Michael Douglas and Hugh Grant have all been guests at Limerick’s most luxurious venue.
