A third phase has been added to Crenigans Bánóg, an Ashbourne development with a name inspired both by a local volunteer in the Easter Rising and the golf club opposite the scheme.
The estate on the town's Milltown Road is named after John Crenigan, who lost his life fighting in the battle of Ashbourne in 1916. The second part of the scheme's name, Bánóg, translates as 'fairway' to reflect the development's location across from Ashbourne Golf Club. Indeed, buyers at Crenigans Bánóg get free social membership to the golf club.
The five-bed detached homes that made up the first phase overlook the golf course, while the second and third tranches consist of semi-detached residences. There will be 93 units in all when the entire development is complete.
Of the 25 units launched earlier this month in the third phase, there are four three-bed semi-detached homes left, which are priced from €305,000, and 15 of the four-bed version, which cost from €345,000.
They feature contemporary-style fitted kitchens and bedroom wardrobes. If the wardrobes, kitchens and bathroom tiling are not to the taste of would-be buyers, they can avail of an allowance instead. There is parking to the front of each home. Each of the properties has an 'A' BER thanks in part to an energy-saving air-to-water pump controlled by a smartphone app and all the bathroom sanitary ware have water conservation features. There is also underfloor heating downstairs.
Viewings at Crenigans Bánóg are held between 1pm-3pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
