There are two memorials to the English brig Gainsborough, which was wrecked off the Malahide coast in November 1838, with the loss of three lives.
One is a Celtic Cross in front of the Band Room at Yellow Walls, commemorating the dead (although without their names). The other is the Gainsborough housing estate, a well-established community off the Swords Road about 20 minutes' walk from Malahide village.
Number 5 Gainsborough Court is towards the back of the estate, one of a row of semi-detached redbrick properties in a child-friendly cul de sac.
It has a smallish front garden with a driveway for parking, and a neat, south-facing back garden with a lawn and a wooden shed.
You can reach the garden from a set of French doors in the open-plan kitchen and dining room at the back of the house - a skylit room with light bouncing off a shiny tiled floor and high-gloss white fitted cabinets.
Also at the back of the house, through an archway in the dining area, there's a family room with another skylight and a window overlooking the garden.
It's possible a new owner may want to reconfigure slightly the layout of the kitchen, dining room and family room, possibly changing it so that there's either an eating or a seating area closer to the French doors.
The property has a second reception room - a lounge with a fireplace - at the front of the house, and there's also a guest toilet in the entrance hall.
The main bathroom is upstairs along with the four bedrooms, all with fitted wardrobes and one with an en-suite shower.
The total floor area of this house is 1,355 sq ft.
Number 5 Gainsborough Court has an asking price of €525,000 and the selling agent is Property Team Noel Kelly (01) 846 2752.
