Home is your castle with mountain and sea views
Castle Keep, Dungarvan, Co Waterford
A second tranche of four-bed homes has come on the market at Castle Keep, a development of detached properties in Dungarvan, where the Comeragh Mountains and Colligan river meet the Celtic Sea.
Prices at the high-end development in Abbeyside - a five-minute walk from Dungarvan town centre - will start at €595,000, some €100,000 cheaper from the first phase, which had a higher spec.
The four-bed, two-storey homes, which command views of Dungarvan Harbour, are bound to appeal to holidaymakers drawn to local attractions such as the 45km walking and bike trail that makes up the Waterford Greenway and the locality's three 18-hole golf courses.
When the entire scheme is finished, there will be just 15 properties, four of which launched in the summer as part of the first phase. The houses have bespoke joinery staircases and fitted wardrobes.
Each master bedroom has a walk-in wardrobe and an ensuite. Outside, there are cobble-lock driveways, walled gardens and a patio. There are USB ports throughout each property for residents to charge their phones or tablets.
Each house was designed to have an A2 BER, courtesy of energy-saving features like triple glazing and an air-to-water plumbing.
Castle Keep has direct access to the N25. Travelling east, the drive to Waterford City takes about 35 minutes, while, in the other direction, Cork City is a one-hour drive.
