Sand dunes known as The Burrows, which run from the sandy beach at Bettystown to the mouth of the river Boyne at Mornington, inspired the name of this enclave of five large detached homes in the east Meath coastal village.

The small scheme, built by Frank Taaffe Developments, comprises four-bed two-storey houses that will each measure 1,700sq ft in size, with prices starting at €425,000.

While the showhouse will not be finished until February at the earliest, the selling agent has already fielded a lot of enquiries. The site is located just off the Eastham Road in Bettystown. The beach, coastal walks, a links golf course, a tennis club, playgrounds and playing fields are just a few minutes' walk away.

Buyers who work in Dublin can commute to the city using the Laytown railway station, which is on the main Dublin to Belfast line.

The M1 motorway is accessed through both Bettystown and Laytown.
