Mindful moment… Find your inner Wonder Woman

This week I had an important work meeting that I was very nervous about.
My tummy was churning and my mouth was dry. I felt like might be sick - so I did what any sane person would do: I went to the loo and stood like Wonder Woman.
Harvard professor Amy Cuddy says that standing with your legs apart, head held high and your hands on your waist for two minutes decreases stress hormone cortisol by a massive 25pc and increases confidence-boosting testosterone by 19pc. Amy, who believes that your body language shapes who you are to yourself as well as others, even found that people were more likely to be offered a job after doing it.
So I did it. I stood in the bathroom, looking at myself in the mirror and adopted the 'power pose'.
I don't know if it was the hormones or the fact that posing like a super hero in the bathroom made me laugh at myself and lighten up, but the meeting went well.
