Over the coming week, we will bring you expert, evidence-based advice and strategies to manage stress and anxiety, and help you make positive choices to live a happier life.

Starting today in Weekend Magazine, we shine a light on the anxiety epidemic. We also have the first instalment of a five-part stress-management masterclass from psychologist Dr Claire Hayes. This continues on our feature pages into next week.

On Monday, in a special edition of Health & Living magazine devoted to resilience, we look at how to recognise when stress becomes overwhelming and what to do about it, and David Coleman advises parents on how to recognise and deal with anxiety in children. Meanwhile, Patricia Casey tells us what therapies are useful and which ones can cause harm.

Nutritionist Gaye Godkin will reveal which foods will help your mood and which ones to avoid, and on Tuesday we will look at the mental health benefits of being a Scout. On Wednesday, we will teach you how to be assertive and how to say no. On Thursday, we will look at panic attacks and how to deal with them.
