Mindful moment… Slow down, you move too fast

"Wisely and slow; they stumble that run fast." These words were uttered by the greatest self-help guru of them all... William Shakespeare.
Or to be more specific, by Friar Laurence, who is warning an impatient Romeo to slow down when it comes to capturing the heart and hand of fair Juliet.
Romeo wants to seal the deal, get the job done... I can relate to that.
I have spent the last few months rushing. Not when it comes to love, alas, but rushing through many other things in my life. I have been putting huge pressure on myself to work fast, get the job done, move on to the next thing and the one after that.
But guess what? The rushing has not worked. I have been stumbling all over the place. It's been one step forward, two steps back.
Maybe it's time to stop rushing. To stop, take a deep breath and realise that some things just take time.
As another wise author, Aesop, wrote: "slow and steady wins the race..."
