Mindful moment… Breathe a sigh of relief

I recently called time on something I'd been sticking with way longer than I should have. Something that had been weighing me down emotionally.
I was expecting to feel regret or disappointment at myself, but my first feeling was one of relief. Glorious, shoulder-dropping, deep-sighing relief!
I feel a sense of excitement and freedom that I haven't felt for months. I feel like I am me again...
Relief is a seriously underestimated emotion. It's not up there with love, excitement, gratitude - you won't find any songs written about it - but when we feel relief, it's a sign that we've let go of something that was bad for us in the first place.
We've let go of all the trying, forcing, twisting that we've been doing to fit into a situation that's all wrong.
Relief only comes after we have done the right thing - that is, the thing that was right for us in the situation.
And in that way, to me, it is one of the best emotions.
