On Tuesday, three of Ireland's best-known landmarks will light up in a spectacular display of teal blue.

Dublin's Mansion House, the Convention Centre and the 3Arena (formerly the O2 Arena) will be covered in the eye-catching lights to mark the first time this country has celebrated International Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness Day. Trigeminal Neuralgia is a rare disorder of the trigeminal nerve, which is the main sensory nerve of the face.

The condition, which can be extremely painful, affects four or five people out of every 100,000, and twice as many women as men.

International TN Awareness Day is celebrated abroad with plenty of flair - renowned landmarks like Trafalgar Square and Niagara Falls will be among those to light up in teal blue.
