Our habits are dictated by marketing. We are bombarded by it and nowhere is it more prominent than in the health industry.

Pictures of gorgeous, sculpted, bronzed people showing us just what we can achieve by using, eating or drinking that product ourselves.

Chances are that they are just models, but you still buy it in hope. And guess what? The product is generally higher in sugar so it is actually worse for you than the version of the product it is replacing.

Always check the sugar content. If it's sugar-free, look for aspartame on the label which is pretty much the same as sugar, except it's even more processed.

Our digestive systems are under more pressure than ever so try this first thing in the morning or around an hour before bed to help yours.

Serves 2

You will need

1 bunch celery

1 kiwi, peeled

1 pear

1 lemon, peeled

1 inch of fresh ginger, peeled

Handful of parsley

Handful kale leaves

Method

Simply process all the ingredients in a juicer, shake or stir and try to drink (over ice) within 60 seconds.
