Revealed: The disgusting things tourists admit to doing in the pool
You might want to think again before diving into the pool on your holiday, as new research has exposed the disgusting things people get up to in the water.
The survey found that 67pc of people admit to peeing in the pool, while one in eight confessed to doing something much more sinister.
According to the research, carried out by UK company Simpson Millar Solicitors, pool daredevils have taken to mimicking ‘logging’, a trend set in the film Inbetweeners 2 which saw a character defecate in the swimming pool.
More than a quarter of tourists surveyed also admitted to having had sexual intercourse in a swimming pool on holidays.
Commenting on the research Nick Harris, a spokesperson for Simpson Millar Solicitors said: “It’s a horrifically disturbing fact that there are idiots who deliberately pee in pools because they think they can get away with it or they are too lazy to shift their fat backsides from the swim up to the pool bar.
“I can imagine nothing worse than getting a mouthful of faecal matter or wee. It can ruin holidays,” he said.
Pool hygiene has recently come to the forefront after the pools at the Olympic Games in Rio turned green following the breakdown of a machine.
A spokesperson revealed that the colour of the water was a result of a build up of algae, but stressed there were no health risks to divers competing.
