An American make-up artist has been praised for opening up about her experience with breast reduction surgery after she posted images of the process on her social channels.
Talia, who runs beauty Youtube channel Lala’s Wonderland, underwent the procedure last month in Salt Lake City after years of back pain and discomfort.
The procedure typically involves the surgical removal of excess fat and breast tissue, which can be the cause of severe back and neck pain, skin irritation and self confidence issues for both women and men.
The surgery saw Talia’s breasts reduced from a J cup to a DD cup as surgeons removed more than four pounds of breast tissue.
The blogger posted an image to her Instagram page four days after the operation.
“They seem so small but they're not actually. I think because I was a 38J anything seems small in comparison, I'm not in a ton of pain which is a major plus,” she wrote.
The blogger revealed that she has yet to come to terms with her new appearance and said the decision to undergo a breast reduction is as tough mentally as it is physically.
"Mentally, I'm not doing so great. I don't like how anything looks that I wear. I haven't struggled like this in years and it sucks. It's been super difficult trying to take photos for Instagram, which is a passion of mine. I've cried every day since the surgery,” she said.
“Before surgery, I loved how I looked in the mirror. From what I've read, most choose to get surgery are unhappy with how they look and the physical toll big boobs can have on your body. I was mostly sick of not being able to be as active as I want because of enormous amounts of pain. Now, it's time to just get comfortable in my new skin, but I know it will take time.”
