Festival goers are curing their hangovers with IV drips at Coachella
A pop-up clinic at Californian music festival Coachella is administrating IV drips to partied-out festival goers, to re-hydrate and restore nutrients ahead of the day’s events.
Hydration Room, an IV and injection therapy clinic based in Orange County, have brought their clinic to the Arrive Hotel in Palm Springs which is playing host to some of the world’s biggest influencers throughout the week-long event.
The pop-up clinic offers a ‘festival prep’ IV treatment, which promises to ‘boost your energy for the days and full nights ahead’, focussing on immune and liver support.
The treatment is being enjoyed by bloggers at the elite hotel, including model Jasmine Sanders, as well as Australian influencer Elle Ferguson and her NFL star boyfriend Joel Pattful. The annual music and arts festival is expected to draw more than 125,000 people throughout the week-long event.
Speaking recently to Australian publication Body and Soul, Hydration Rooms founder Dr Brett Florie said our bodies only absorb just 15-20pc of vitamins consumed orally, so the drip is a good way to get a boost of vitamins directly into the bloodstream.
In Ireland, a similar treatment is offered at clinics including Dundrum’s Venus Medical, however this cure can be costly, with prices starting at €199.
Hydration treatments via IV drips are growing ever more popular throughout the US and Australia, however some medical professionals are sceptical about their effects, while others suggest that the availability of the treatment encourages irresponsible drinking.
