"It's very important to find that time for yourself"

Business owner and mum to CJ (7) Saoirse (13) and Katie (15), Sarah took up running two years ago and her first 10km run was the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon. Sarah has since completed two marathons and 10 half-marathons. "I had walked the Mini Marathon a couple of times, but it was 2014 before I ran it for the first time," she says. "My sister Karen got me involved and we joined a local, free, ladies only running club in Swords called 'Sloggers to Joggers'. The club has over 250 members and was started because of the Mini Marathon. A couple of women got together to train for it and raise money for the local Educate Together school's library, and so the Mini Marathon is a huge thing for our group now each year. To have the support of the other women training with you is huge; to have someone running with you and telling you that you can do this, no matter what your brain is telling you, is very powerful."
