Your core: the centre of the body. The area that everyone wants to improve, always. Every client I see comes in with this request. It's important to remember that we all have a six pack. Everyone reading this column has a set of abdominals. What differentiates one person from another is the fat that covers the area.

Core work on its own will improve your strength and your posture but it won't give you a six pack unless you build a more comprehensive workout routine, incorporating a full body exercise programme along with cardio work and eat a healthy, balanced diet. But core work is super important to do and this is one of my favourites as there is no pulling on your neck like in a sit up and yet it can be surprisingly hard.

Don't be afraid to challenge yourself when it begins to get easy. It's that element of challenge that will help to give you the core strength that you have always wanted!
