Enjoy Christmas calories, advises celebrity trainer
Celebrity trainer Mark Harari says the key to staying in shape over Christmas is to accept you will eat more.
Mark owns Pulse Fitness Studio, and has worked with stars including Melissa Joan Hart and Derek Hough. He knows everyone starts to worry about their shape when the festive season approaches as there is so much emphasis put on eating naughty treats, but insists there isn’t much to worry about.
As long as you don’t feast of fatty snacks all year round you can afford to indulge at Christmas, especially if you exercise well.
“There’s a lot of things we can do to prepare ourselves for the holiday season. Number one you gotta remember to have fun along the way. Don’t completely cut out everything, don’t punish yourself around holiday time,” he told ET Online.
“Expect that you’re going to be adding a little bit of weight on or at least taking in more calories so prepare yourselves for that.”
Mark then showed a variety of exercises which are good for burning off unwanted Christmas calories.
Stomach crunches are key for working the abdominals, while kneeling on all floors and kicking legs out behind you will get butts in shape fast.
The trainer added it’s a good idea to work out with a pal, so you can spur each other on.
“Get yourself a buddy to work with, make yourself accountable to someone else, if you’re feeling lazy they will motivate you and if they are you can motivate them,” he explained.
