SuperValu has curated a selection of fine Italian wines, which will be stocked on shelves from 16th to 29th April.

The widely anticipated Italian Wine Sale brings together a range of historic Italian wine of exceptional quality, selection and value available in 222 stores nationwide.

Expert Wine Buyer Kevin O’Callaghan was tasked with sourcing varieties which make it easy for people to enjoy ‘a pisa’ Italy in the comfort of your own home.

“Italy is home to some of the world’s most renowned wine regions with hundreds of indigenous grape varieties found across the country,” Kevin says. “The focus on a leading wine country such as Italy allows us to experience unique grape varieties and specialty regions. The selection in store offers our consumers the opportunity to experience a wide spectrum of Italian wine for incredible value, with a number of exceptional new wines added to the range.”

Kevin’s must try Italian wines include:

Sopra Sasso Amarone, €20 - This is a super smooth luxurious wine made with sun dried grapes. With matured black cherry and spice, Amarone is truly one of the world’s greatest tasting wines.
