Tipp-top marmalade takes honours
An Irish company was the toast of the preserve world yesterday - after receiving two gold medals for its marmalade in a prestigious event in the UK.
Tipperary business Crossogue Preserves took home 10 awards in total at the ceremony which also included two silver, five bronze and one highly commended.
The board of experts based in Cumbria, England, bestowed gold awards for its Thick Cut Seville Orange Marmalade and Orange and Damson Marmalade.
Crossogue founder and owner Veronica Molloy said she was elated with the victories.
"We were thrilled to receive two gold prizes, but when eight further awards were announced we were elated," she said. "Winning 10 accolades at the prestigious World's Original Marmalade Awards endorses the pride I and my team invest."
