I Feudi di San Gregorio Greco di Tufo DOCG 2009

The perfect partner for mozzarella dishes, or try with chicken or raw fish. €19.95 Available from Mortons, Ranelagh; Michael's Wines, Mount Merrion; Pane E Vino, Ballincollig; Ponte Vecchio, Killaloe; Cases, Galway.

Terredora Aglianico IGT 2008

From a winery born of a split in the pioneering Mastroberardino family, showing all the character of this grape: robust, dark and inky fruit flavours, with hints of coffee beans, leather, cinnamon and violets, and firm but well-integrated tannins, all wrapped in a modest 13pc alc. Open in advance and enjoy with those Italian meat and tomato-based dishes, such as lasagne. €14.99 Available from O'Briens.
