It's a bit of a cheat to use jars of condiments, especially when it is so easy to make your own curry paste or spice mix, but sometimes it's difficult to get motivated to do everything from scratch, particularly after a long day at the office. For those situations, you need a pantry standard like curry paste or a curry powder to hand, which you can use for everything from seasoning meat to making great sauces.

This tastes really fresh with lots of fresh coriander and basil present in the mix.
It has a nice consistency with a medium strength and this works great with chicken and
prawn dishes.

Per 100g, you get 175 calories, 1.5g of protein, 5.8g of sugar and 13.8g of fat.

Patak's Korma Spice Paste 290g

Price - €2.69
Price per 100g - 92c

This sauce is a good one to have on standby for mid-week meals. A mildly spicy, tomato-based paste this
works best with beef
or lamb. Add a bit of fresh ginger and coriander to lift it.

Per 100g, there's 227 calories, 3.1g of protein, 9.9g of sugar and 15.4g of fat.

M&S Roasted Curry Powder45g

Price - €3.69
Price per 100g - €8.20

Because this is not a paste, you get to choose how many calories you to eat. So put a teaspoon in with your meat when cooking to add flavour, stir into mayonnaise for a spicy kick or mix it in with some coconut milk for a creamy sauce.
