Restaurant review: Sophie Gorman at Foodgame, 10 South Lotts Road, D4

The Cost: €5 for soup and sambo lunch deal.
The Look: Top-end delicatessen with shelves heaving with the most tempting foodstuffs. It is most impossible to stick to your shopping list here. There are a couple of stools outside, but you have to battle with traffic fumes, and a small dining area inside. The staff are all good looking, encouraging you to dawdle and also possibly go for the eat-in option.
The Goods: In the battle of quality vs quantity, this is all about quality. But when we allude to limited choice, what we actually mean is no choice as they just have one soup and one sandwich. However, it is a very good-value deal.
The Bad: It would be worth having one alternative for both courses as you might be a vegetarian and unable to eat the sandwich or you may hate the flavour of soup on offer.
The Result: The soup of the day is roasted tomato, deliciously creamy and flavoursome. And the perfectly simple sandwich trusts its amazing ingredients -- gorgeous ciabatta smothered in the sweetest onion jam and filled with rocket and smoked hot dog. We have been back -- both for the edible delights and the visual.
The Grade: A-.
