It's a stab in the dark as foodies try blind tasting

Whether you want to dine in style or dine in the dark, the fantastic foodie affair that is Harvest Festival Waterford has lots of gastronomic events going on this week to keep all your senses satisfied. Getting the better of our capricious climate, there's the Indoor Food Market to shop in, the Slow Food Tour to participate in and the GIY (Grow It Yourself) Gathering to learn from. The food-centred fun all starts tomorrow and runs until September 15.

Highlights include Dine in Style, a jazz/drinks/ dinner night full of fashion and glamour, with all proceeds raised on the night going to Oasis Home Women's Refuge. Other exciting happenings include the Dine in the Dark sessions that run over the three days from September 12 to 15. You'll be served by legally blind waiters and eat in complete darkness so as to experience a heightening of other senses. There's also the Theatre of Food which has lots of demos, talks and tastings, all centring around food, obviously. www.water fordharvestfestival.ie
