At long last, Skinny Prosecco has arrived in Ireland.

The new beverage, created by Amanda Thomson of the UK-based company Thomson & Scott, clocks in at just 67 calories per 100ml – less than a banana.

Hailing from Soligo in Italy's Treviso province, Skinny Prosecco also has less than half the sugar content of a standard glass of normal Prosecco, with the added benefits of being organic and vegan-friendly.

“We’re all obsessed with the new war on sugar. I was raised on a sugar-free diet by my mother and now 40 years later, it’s finally being recognised as the way forward for many like me who want to avoid the deadly granules!” Ms Thomson said.

Many have been dying to get their hands on a glass since its launch in April, but for months it was only available in the UK.

Now, thanks to Wines of the World, it has finally come to Ireland.

Priced at €24.99 for a 75cl bottle, Skinny Prosecco can be purchased online on Wines of the World’s website, but it has a minimum order threshold of six bottles – however, they will throw in free delivery to your door within 48 hours.
