Gordon Ramsay’s daughter Matilda: ‘My dad is soft and mushy on the inside’
Chef Gordon Ramsay might not be the hard egg he appears to be in the kitchen according to his daughter Tilly who dished that he’s actually “soft on the inside”.
The 14-year-old who has regularly featured in her dad’s programmes said: “Dad is hard on the outside but soft on the inside,” said Matilda, affectionately called Tilly by her dad.
The teenager who is set to present her own cookery programme on CBBC revealed that while her dad might be top dog on Hell’s Kitchen and Kitchen Nightmares, her mum Tana (40) is the boss at home.
“She wears the trousers and is the only one dad’s afraid of. He is strict in a good way. I’d say Mum was stricter,” she told The Irish Sun.
Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch will also feature Matilda’s siblings Holly and Jack (14) and Megan (16) and the teenager will be demonstrating scrumptious dishes like herby garlic bread, salmon parcels and smoky LA fries.
“I have been cooking for eight years now. I love it so much. Dad has taught me so much and given me so many tips on things like how to chop properly and taste food.
“But I definitely think I’m the best cook. Mum and Dad are joint second,” she joked.
Speaking of Matilda, Gordon said: “What she managed to do is make cooking look like lots of fun. It’s really exciting.”
The show debuts on CBBC on Tuesday April 14.
