An exact replica of Central Perk, the fictional café which appeared throughout all ten seasons of US sitcom Friends, will pop up in New York to celebrate the show’s 20th anniversary.
Warner Brothers have announced that a pop-up Central Perk will open its doors in Manhattan’s SoHo throughout the month of October.
The café will host the same stage where character Phoebe frequently belted out her signature tune ‘Smelly Cat’, as well as the famous orange couch where some of the shows most comedic moments occurred.
While it is unlikely that any of the show’s actors, including Rachel Aniston and Matt LeBlanc, will make an appearance fans of the show can expect to clasp eyes upon James Michael Tyler who played besotted café owner Gunther.
More than 52 million people in the US alone tuned into the last episode of the series in 2004 and crowds at the pop-up are expected to be manic.
While free coffee is most certainly a perk of the pop-up Central Perk, the chance to pretend that you’re a member of the 90s most famous sixsome is too good to pass up should you be visiting the big apple.
Central Perk will open its doors to the public on Wednesday, September 17 and run until October 18th.
