Five exciting things to do at Dublin’s Taste City Fusion this weekend

Taste of Dublin’s cult following of die-hard food lovers now have a second chance to lap up Ireland’s favourite food event as the festival launched City Fusion in the city today.

Taste City Fusion will see Dublin transform into feast for gourmands throughout the weekend offering bespoke dining experiences, masterclasses and food fairs pop up throughout the capital.

Following in the shadow of the annual Taste of Dublin, which celebrated its tenth anniversary last year, this weekend’s line-up is set to include tops chefs both Irish and internationally acclaimed including Kevin Thornton, Paul Kelly and Sunil Ghai.

Food revellers can expect to gather at the festival’s epicentre in Christchurch Cathedral but stellar dining experiences will sprawl across the city throughout the long weekend and these events in particular have captured our attention.

Jaipur Pops Up

Friday 23rd October 2015 @ 7.15pm

Location: Cafe en Seine

Sunil Ghai will host a stellar pop up on Dublin’s Dawson Street this Friday which will showcase a menu celebrating Jaipur’s favourite dishes throughout the past 17 years. Celebrating Jaipur’s trademark of limitless imagination and true passion for local food the five course pop-up is an exciting addition to the line up.

FX Buckley Butcher Masterclass & Beef Dinner

Saturday 24th October 2015 @ 2pm

Location: FX Buckley, 1A Lower Pembroke Street, Dublin 2.

FX Buckley’s in-house butcher will butcher a side of beef showing all the different cuts and their Head Chef will explain the best way to cook them. Guests will finish the evening with a three course meal in one of Dublin’s most delicious restaurants.

#IndustryNight @ Industry & Co

Saturday 24th October 2015 @ 7.30pm

Location: Industry & Co., 41 a/b Drury Street, Dublin 2.

A unique dining experience can be had at Industry's pop-up restaurant. Industry & Co. will treat guests to a three course evening meal set in the midst of their award winning design store. Guests can bring their own alcohol and get ready to enjoy a Middle Eastern inspired menu.

A Masterclass in Afternoon Tea by Paul Kelly, in association with Barry's Tea

Sunday 25th October 2015 @ 2.30PM

Location: Christ Church Cathedral

Join GIBO’s Paul Kelly for a Masterclass in Afternoon Tea with a modern twist, in association with Barry’s Tea. Guests will enjoy a demonstration by Paul, including a short tutorial demonstrating the method in brewing Barry's Loose Leaf Tea. Guests get to bring home an afternoon tea goodie box to the value of €20. Goodie box includes a mini Afternoon Tea from Paul Kelly, a tea jar of Barry’s Loose Leaf Tea and a recipe card.

Learn Fine Wine for Winter

Friday 23rd at 5.30pm and Sunday 25th @ 6.30pm

Join O’Briens Head of Wine Buying Lynne Coyle for a meander through some of her favourite wines for this winter. The event will start with a pop of fizz and end in delicious seasonal red, stopping in Spain, France, New Zealand and Italy on route. Tickets include fabulous wine samples.
